Why does this error occur?
- SSL certificate is missing or not installed
- The certificate has expired
- The domain doesn't match the one the certificate was issued for
- The page has "mixed content" (HTTP resources on an HTTPS page)
Diagnostics — check it yourself
- Click the padlock (or ⚠️) in the address bar
- Go to Certificate → Details
- Check which domain the certificate was issued for and the expiry date
Fixing common problems
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Certificate expired | Renew SSL in cPanel or order a new one |
| Wrong domain | Reinstall the certificate for the correct domain |
| Mixed content | Find HTTP links on the page using whynopadlock.com |
| Error remains | Clear browser cache with Ctrl+Shift+Del |
